A 90-minute format to take a concrete question from problem framing all the way to a committed decision โ without a full-day workshop. Learn more: Micro-workshops.
Make the occasion, the decision question and the decision frame (who decides? by when?) transparent. Ensures nobody is surprised after the workshop.
Decision question written down
Clarify together: what exactly is being decided, and what isn't? Which constraints (budget, time, tech) already apply?
Flipchart or digital board
Each person silently notes possible options or approaches. Deliberately no evaluation yet โ first get as many options as possible on the table.
Sticky notes, pens
In small groups, merge similar options and narrow them down to 3-4 serious alternatives. Note pros and cons briefly for each option.
Cluster board or a pros/cons table
Each small group presents its top options in 3 minutes. Clarify open questions in plenary before voting.
Timer for presentations
Decide using the method agreed on beforehand (dot-voting, consent round, or a final call by the decision-maker). Record the outcome clearly.
Voting dots or a voting tool
Capture concrete next steps with owners and deadlines. Who communicates the decision to whom?
Quick closing round: does everyone stand behind the decision? For fast idea generation without decision pressure: 60-Minute Micro-Workshop.
