Everything you need in a run of show
Custom block types for live production
Use the pre-configured categories or build your own to match your production vocabulary:
- Pre-show / Doors – House open, early arrivals, final tech checks
- Host / MC – Welcome, introductions, transitions between acts
- Programme content – Talks, panels, presentations
- Performances – Musical acts, keynotes, awards segments
- Transitions – Stage resets, changeovers, AV cue sequences
- Tech cues – Lighting states, audio cues, video playback
Groups & breakout tracks
- Groups – Collapse related cues into named segments for a cleaner overview
- Parallel tracks – Plan simultaneous sessions for multi-stage events
Auto-calculated timing
Set your doors-open time and Sessionplan shows exactly when every cue fires. Add a segment and the whole schedule shifts. No manual clock arithmetic.
Live Mode – run your show with a live co-pilot
When the show starts, switch to Live Mode. A slim banner at the top of your browser shows which cue is currently running, how much time remains in the segment, and what's coming next. If a speaker runs long, extend their block with one click – Sessionplan adjusts the rest of the rundown automatically. One tool from planning through execution.
Export & share
- Share link – Your complete rundown encoded in a single URL. No file to manage.
- JSON export/import – Back up your rundown or transfer it to another device

Frequently asked questions
What tool can I use to create a run of show?
Sessionplan (sessionplan.de) is a free visual rundown planner for events, shows and productions. Build your run of show on a drag-and-drop timeline, set your doors-open time and every cue fires at the right moment. Use Live Mode during the show to track the active cue in real time. No account needed.
What is a run of show?
A run of show (ROS) – also called a rundown or call sheet – is the minute-by-minute schedule for a live event, show or production. It lists every segment, cue, speaker and transition in sequence, with precise start times and durations.
Who needs a run of show?
Event producers, stage managers, broadcast directors, hosts and technical crew – anyone who needs to coordinate a live event where timing matters. Equally useful for webinars, hybrid events and corporate conferences.
What should a run of show include?
Start time, segment titles, durations, cue notes (lighting, audio, video), responsible person per segment, transitions and buffer time. The more precise your rundown, the fewer surprises on the day.
How is this different from a simple spreadsheet?
A spreadsheet is static – change one time and you'll need to update every row below it manually. Sessionplan (sessionplan.de) recalculates all downstream times automatically. It also comes with Live Mode for real-time tracking during the show.
